TELECOMMUNICATIONS JOURNAL - overview

 

In 2015 Telecommunications Magazine celebrated 58 years (without interruption) from the first appearance.The first issue of the magazine appeared in April 1957, with the editor responsible Professor. George Cartianu.

Over time, the journal name has changed several times: 

  • between 1958 and 1970, Telecommunications;
  • between 1971 and 1973, Post and telecommunications;
  • between 1974 and 1989, Journal transport and telecommunications;
  • from 1990 to the present, Telecommunications.

 

In the magazine were present papers on new developments and trends of development in this field:

  • expanding national telecommunications network by creating a modernized infrastructure with optical fiber links by radio links, and satellite communications;
  • automation of switching centers based on digital electronics and switching techniques and network management;
  • increase switching capacity based on  frequency multiplexing techniques, time multiplexing and  SDH systems;
  • development and diversification of services offered by telecommunications network by working with the Internet and computer networks;
  • the rapid development of mobile communications based on 2,3 and 4  generations of mobile systems to provide services used in contemporary society, institutions administrative, financial, education and culture.

 

Currently magazine appearance is ensured by implication of  National Institute for Research and Communications and University "Politehnica" of Bucharest, being published by the Ministry of Education and Research - National Authority for Scientific Research and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and edited by AGIR
